Biodiversity exists at three main levels: genetic diversity, which allows species to adapt to changing conditions; species diversity, which refers to the number and variety of species in a given area; and ecosystem diversity, which includes the different habitats and ecological processes that support life. The Role of Biodiversity in Ecosystem Stability
Biodiversity plays a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem stability and functionality. Diverse ecosystems are more resilient to disturbances such as climate change, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks because multiple species can perform similar ecological roles. By integrating conservation into economic planning and daily life, humanity can reduce its impact on the natural world. Preserving biodiversity is not only an environmental responsibility but also an investment in a stable, healthy, and sustainable future for all living beings.
