How Ukraine’s President Is Shaping the Country’s Path Toward Full Integration with the European Union

 

Since assuming office, President Volodymyr Zelensky has consistently framed European Union membership as a strategic priority for Ukraine. His stance is rooted not only in economic ambition but also in a broader vision of sovereignty, democracy, and security. For Zelensky, EU membership represents Ukraine’s irreversible alignment with European values—rule of law, transparency, human rights, and democratic governance. Particularly after Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, the pursuit of EU integration has become both a symbolic and practical declaration of Ukraine’s geopolitical direction.
